Tidy the flyaway strands of hair in this [PORTRAIT / FULL-BODY] photo. Keep my hairstyle, hair colour, length and parting exactly the same.

Smooth only loose strands around the head and shoulders, keep natural volume and texture, and do not change my face, skin or clothing.

What you will get

Your portrait with loose flyaway strands around the head and shoulders smoothed, while hairstyle, colour, length, parting, volume and texture, plus your face and clothing, stay exactly as they were.

Why it works

This is a small edit, and the prompt keeps it small: only loose strands around the head and shoulders. Hairstyle, colour, length, parting, face, skin and clothing all stay the same. Keeping natural volume avoids a flat, plastic look.

Common mistake

The hair turns into a smooth helmet.

Fix: Add “keep natural volume and individual strands, only remove stray loose hairs that cross the face or stand away from the head”.

Also watch for

Curls or waves are straightened. Say “keep every curl and wave exactly as it is”, and name your hair type: curly, wavy or straight.
The edge of the hair looks cut out against the background. Ask for “soft, natural hair edges that blend with the background”.

Try a variation: event photo

For a wedding or party photo add “keep the hair accessories and flowers exactly as they are”. A small edit like this looks better than heavy retouching, as the tip says.
