How the Midjourney prompt generator works
- Type your idea in your own words, the way you would say it.

What makes a Midjourney prompt work
- Lead with the subject. The first words weigh the most. Put what the picture is of before the style and mood.
- Add style, light and framing. A medium (photo, oil painting, 3D render), a light (golden hour, studio) and a lens or angle (wide angle, close-up) shape the result more than extra adjectives.
- Set the shape with --ar. --ar 16:9 for a wide image, 9:16 for a phone wallpaper or Reel cover, 1:1 for a square post.
- Keep it short and clear. Midjourney reads concise descriptions well. A few strong phrases beat a paragraph.
- Try variations. Use the New variation button in the tool to get alternative wordings, then pick the one that gives the picture you want.
