From one line to a full prompt

One line turns into a prompt with a role, the details ChatGPT needs, a clear format, tone rules, and an instruction to ask before guessing.

You type

email to my manager asking for two days leave

You get

Act as an expert in clear, professional workplace communication.

Task: Email to my manager asking for two days leave.

Context:
- Recipient and my relationship with them: [WHO]
- The key facts to include: [DETAILS, DATES, NUMBERS]
- What I want them to do next: [ACTION]

Output format: A clear subject line, then the email in short paragraphs. Give 2 versions: one formal and one friendly.

Rules: Polite, confident and warm. Under 150 words. No robotic clichés like "I hope this email finds you well".

Before you start, ask me up to 3 short questions if any important detail is missing. Otherwise, go straight to the answer.

How the ChatGPT prompt generator works

  1. Type your idea in your own words, the way you would say it.
  2. PromptUp picks the mode (photo edit, image, video or text) and builds the prompt from its library of 1,611 tested prompts and a set of rules.
  3. Fill in the [BRACKETED] parts with your own details, then copy the prompt.
  4. Paste it into ChatGPT and run it. Use "New variation" for a different wording.

Nothing is sent to a server. The generator runs entirely in your browser, so it is instant and private.

What makes a ChatGPT prompt work

  • Give it a role. "Act as a career coach" or "Act as a clear workplace writer" sets the tone and level of detail before ChatGPT writes a word.
  • Put your real details in. Names, dates, numbers and the situation. Without them ChatGPT fills the gaps with generic text. The [BRACKETED] fields in the generated prompt show where.
  • Ask for the format you want. Say "three short paragraphs", "a table" or "under 150 words". If you do not, you get whatever length it prefers.
  • Tell it what to avoid. Banning clichés ("I hope this finds you well") or a tone ("not pushy") is one of the quickest ways to a better draft.
  • Let it ask questions. Ending with "ask me up to 3 questions if anything is missing" stops it from inventing details.

Questions, answered

Is this ChatGPT prompt generator free?

Yes. It is free with no sign-up and no limit. You need your own ChatGPT access to run the prompt.

What kinds of prompts can it build?

Writing and chat prompts such as emails, captions, study plans, resumes and summaries, plus image and photo-edit prompts for ChatGPT's image tools.

Why does the prompt have [BRACKETED] parts?

They mark the details only you know, like the recipient or the dates. Replace them before you send the prompt so the answer is specific to you.

Does it use AI to write the prompt?

No. It builds the prompt from PromptUp's library of tested prompts and a set of rules, right in your browser. That is why it is instant and private.
