World Teachers' Day is celebrated every year on 5 October. UNESCO started it in 1994 to mark the anniversary of the 1966 recommendation on the status of teachers. In 2026 it's a Monday, so the card or message can go in on the first day of the school week. (India's own Teachers' Day is on 5 September. This one is for everyone.)

AI can help in two ways: students and parents can make a better thank-you, and teachers can save a few hours. Here are prompts for both.

For students and parents

A thank-you message that sounds like you

Generic "thank you for everything" messages are forgettable. One specific memory makes them special. Based on our thank-you note prompt:

Help me write a short thank-you message to my teacher, [NAME], who teaches [SUBJECT]. I want to mention this memory: [ONE MEMORY, e.g. she stayed after class to help me with algebra before my exam].
Tone: warm and simple, like a student would write. 4-5 sentences. No big words, no clichés like "a candle that lights others".

Read it out loud and change any word you wouldn't say. Teachers can tell when a message isn't from you.

A printable card

Based on our Teachers' Day card prompt:

Design a front cover for a thank-you card for a teacher, 5x7 inch portrait. A soft watercolour illustration of [THEME, e.g. a stack of books with a small plant growing from the top and a red apple]. Gentle colours, lots of white space, hand-made feel. No text.

Print it, fold it, and write the message inside by hand. A handwritten card beats a WhatsApp forward.

A class poster

Create a cheerful poster for a class to give their teacher on World Teachers' Day: an illustrated classroom with children of different backgrounds holding up drawings and flowers towards a smiling teacher at a chalkboard. Warm, bright colours. Leave the top quarter empty for a title. No text.

Everyone in the class can sign the empty space around it.

For teachers

A 45-minute lesson plan

Our lesson plan prompt gives you a ready structure:

Make a 45-minute lesson plan on [TOPIC] for class [GRADE]. Include: a 5-minute hook, the main explanation with one real-life example from India, a 15-minute group activity, a 5-minute exit question. List the materials I need. Keep it realistic for a class of [NUMBER] students with a whiteboard only.

"Whiteboard only" and the class size stop the AI suggesting activities that need tablets or a lab.

A quick quiz

The teacher quiz generator writes questions at the right level:

Always check the answers. AI occasionally marks a wrong option as correct.

A profile photo for school

For the school website or a LinkedIn profile, the teacher classroom portrait prompt makes a friendly, professional photo from a selfie.
