A portrait 5:7 greeting card cover in watercolour: a bouquet of your chosen flowers in a hand-painted vase, soft pastel colours, small hearts and leaves, hand-lettered message and a white background.
The message is misspelt or has an odd letter shape.
Fix: Keep it to three or four words, put it in quotes and read every letter. Ask for the inside blank so you can write the real message by hand.
- The bouquet is a mix of flowers you did not name. Name the kind and number: “five pink peonies and a few eucalyptus leaves”. Counting gives control.
- The card is made too late, as the date differs by country. Mother’s Day is in March in the UK, and on the second Sunday of May in the US and India. Check the date and allow a week to print.
Change the message to “For Nani” or “For Grandma” and the flowers to jasmine and marigold, with a small hand-drawn teacup. A card for her can use warmer, more traditional pictures.
Keep the watercolour style. Show five pink peonies with a few eucalyptus leaves, spell the message exactly and leave the white space clean for my handwriting.
