Giant goldfish swimming in the sunset sky

At sunset above a hill village of whitewashed houses, large glowing goldfish swim slowly through the air among the clouds, their translucent fins fluttering, while villagers on rooftops look up and a child waves. A slow upward tilt follows them into a pink and orange sky.

Surreal vertical video. At sunset above [PLACE, e.g. a quiet hill village of whitewashed houses], a school of [CREATURE, e.g. large glowing orange goldfish] swims slowly through the air among the clouds as if the sky were water, their long translucent fins fluttering, their scales catching pink and gold light, while a few villagers on rooftops look up and a child waves. Slow upward camera tilt, dreamy soft haze, gentle film grain, rich pink and orange sky. Wondrous, magical mood. Sound: soft dreamy synth pad, quiet wind, faint bells.

A surreal idea reads clearly when the rule is simple: the sky behaves like water, and people on rooftops look up. Add a human reaction, such as a child waving, so the viewer knows how to feel.

What you will get

Huge glowing goldfish drifting across a pink and orange sunset sky above white rooftops, with small figures looking up from a terrace and a slow upward camera tilt.

Common mistake

The fish are so big that the village disappears.

Fix: In some seconds of this clip the nearest fish fills much of the frame. Give a size next to the houses, for example as big as a bus, and keep the village in the lower third.

Also watch for
  • People look painted on or stiff. Keep them tiny and far away, as in this prompt, and give them one simple action: looking up, waving. Small distant figures hide most of the flaws.
Try a variation: another sky creature

Swap the goldfish for jellyfish, koi, manta rays or paper kites. Keep the idea that the sky behaves like water, keep the onlookers on the rooftops, and change the sunset colours to suit the creature.

Still not right? Add this and run it again

Keep the same face and outfit as in the starting image for the whole clip.
