Ask for a raise with evidence

This prompt helps you prepare to ask for a raise. You enter your role and tenure, current and target pay, achievements with numbers and any market data you found, and it builds the case and wording. Check the figures before you use them.

Ask for a meeting first. Do not raise pay in a hallway chat.

What you will get

A short opening line, a three-point case with evidence, the exact figure you are asking for, and calm replies to three likely objections: budget, timing and “not this year”.

Common mistake

The case sounds confident but has no real numbers.

Fix: Fill “Achievements” with real figures, such as “cut report time from 5 days to 2”, and add one salary source for your role and city.

Other ways it goes wrong

The reply to “not this year” sounds like a threat to leave. Ask for a fallback: “a review date, and what I need to achieve by then to get the raise”. Give your manager a way to say yes later.
The objection replies sound argumentative. Reply “rewrite the three answers so each one starts by agreeing with the concern, then gives one fact”. Calm works better than clever.
The market data is a rough guess. Use two real sources, such as a salary survey for your role and city, and put them in the sources box. If you have none, ask the AI what to look up, not for numbers.

Try a variation: email request

Ask for “a four-line email requesting a 20-minute meeting about my pay, without arguing the case yet”. Many managers prefer to hear the full case in person.

Use only the achievements and numbers I gave you. Make the ask one clear sentence with my target figure, and keep the script under 2 minutes spoken.
