The colour on the wall does not match the colour of the sign. Add “the light spilling on the wall and the sofa is the same colour as the tube”. Matching light makes the picture believable.

Try a variation: daytime off

Ask for “the same sign switched off in daylight, showing the pale unlit glass tubes and the clips, window light on the brick”. It shows what the sign looks like when no one has switched it on.
