AI action figure prompts: turn your photo into a boxed toy, a chibi figurine or a brick minifigure

Short answerUpload a clear photo, ask for a toy version that keeps two or three features people recognise you by, describe the packaging and accessories, and ask for studio product lighting. The packaging is what makes it look real.

The "turn yourself into a toy" trend started on TikTok and never really went away. Action figures in blister packs, big-headed chibi figurines on a desk, toy-brick minifigures: in 2026 they're some of the most-shared AI photos around, and Pinterest searches for "AI action figure" keep climbing months after the first wave.

The good news is that it's easy to do well. The difference between a result people share and one that looks cheap comes down to a few words in the prompt. This guide gives you three prompts, explains what each part does and how to turn the figure into a short video.

Start with the right photo

Use a photo where your face is clear and well lit. A full or half-body photo helps, because the toy needs an outfit. Glasses, a beard or a distinctive hairstyle are useful: they're what makes a small toy still look like you.

The boxed action figure

This is the classic version. Upload your photo and paste the action figure in toy packaging prompt:

Create a photorealistic collectible action figure of the person in this photo, sealed in a retail blister pack. The figure's face must clearly look like me.

Packaging: a bold card backing with the name "[FIGURE NAME]" at the top and the tagline "[TAGLINE, e.g. Powered by chai]". Accessories in separate plastic slots next to the figure: [3 ACCESSORIES, e.g. laptop, coffee mug, cricket bat].

Outfit: [OUTFIT]. Studio product lighting, glossy plastic reflections, shot straight-on, portrait 4:5.

What makes it work:

"Sealed in a retail blister pack": the packaging is the joke. Without it, you just get a small statue.
Three accessories: pick things your friends link with you. A camera, running shoes, a stack of files. Three fits the box; six gets crowded.
A short name and tagline: AI tools render short text more cleanly. Check the spelling before you post.
"Studio product lighting, glossy plastic reflections": this is what makes it look like a real product photo.

The chibi figurine on a desk

For something cuter, use the chibi 3D figurine prompt. It gives you a big-head figure standing on a desk with its illustrated box behind it and a screen showing the 3D model, as if you'd just had it made.

The key line is "keep my recognisable features: face shape, hairstyle, glasses (if any), and outfit colours". In a chibi style the face is simplified, so these details carry the likeness. Want it premium instead of cute? Swap "chibi" for "realistic 1/7 scale".

The brick minifigure

The toy brick minifigure prompt asks you to list two or three features, like "curly hair, round glasses, short beard". That's all a minifigure has room for, so choose the ones people notice first. Add an accessory that fits your job or hobby.

Fixing common problems

It doesn't look like me. Name your most recognisable features in the prompt: "short curly hair, thick black-framed glasses, a stubble beard".

The text on the box is misspelled. Shorten it. One or two words for the name, three or four for the tagline. If it's still wrong, ask for "blank card backing" and add the text yourself.

It looks like a drawing, not a photo. Add "photorealistic product photography, real plastic, shallow depth of field".

The accessories are weird. Name ordinary objects and ask for "each accessory in its own plastic slot".

The hands look odd. Toy hands are simple. Add "simple toy hands, closed grip".

Bring it to life

Once you have a figurine you like, make a short clip. The tiny chibi me in your hand prompt shows your figure standing on an open palm; a finger boops its cheek and it wobbles, giggles and waves. It's made for vertical reels. Make the photo first, then use it as the starting image in a video tool such as Seedance or Kling.

A few ideas that get shared

Team gift: make one figure per colleague with their real work tools, and post the set.
Birthday card: a figure of the birthday person with their hobbies as accessories.
Couple set: two boxes side by side, with matching taglines.
Profile picture: crop tightly on the figure's face for a fun avatar.

Only make figures of people who are happy to be turned into one.
