What you will get

A short anime-style animation from your photo, with your face shape, hairstyle and outfit recognisable, cel-shaded look, hair and clothes in the wind, drifting petals and a glowing sky as you turn and smile.

Why it works

The prompt changes the style but keeps the person recognisable through face shape, hairstyle and outfit, which are what make an anime character look like someone. Cel shading is the flat colour look of classic anime. Wind in the hair, drifting petals and a turn to smile give the five seconds a small story. Asking for a 24fps feel matches the frame rate of film.

Common mistake

The character no longer looks like you.

Fix: Name three features to keep, such as face shape, a fringe and glasses, and use a sharp front-facing photo.

Also watch for
  • The style is half photo and half cartoon. Say “fully cel-shaded with flat colour and clean outlines, no photographic texture”.
  • The turn looks stiff or the face distorts. Keep the movement to a small head turn and a smile, and avoid fast action in the clip.
Try a variation: change the season

Replace the petals with “falling snow” or “orange leaves”, and keep everything else. One photo gives you several seasonal clips.

Still not right? Add this and run it again

Keep the character recognisable. Use flatter colours, thinner outlines, fewer petals and a slower turn at the end.
