What you will get

An ultra slow-motion shot of a sharp knife slicing a ripe watermelon, orange or mango, with juice drops spraying, shiny flesh, seeds tumbling and a clean coloured background under bright light.

Why it works

Ultra slow motion turns a quick cut into a show, so the prompt focuses on what happens in that split second: juice spraying, glistening flesh appearing and seeds tumbling. A clean coloured backdrop and bright studio light make every drop stand out. The high-speed camera look tells the model to keep drops sharp rather than blurred. The fruit blank changes colour and texture, so a watermelon, orange or mango each gives a different feel.

Common mistake

The fruit heals back together.

Fix: Ask for one clean cut, with the two halves falling apart and staying apart.

Also watch for
  • Seeds appear in the wrong fruit. Match the details to the fruit. A mango has one large stone, not small seeds.
  • The knife bends. Ask for a straight, rigid blade moving in one line.
Try a variation: use winter fruit

Swap to a pomegranate split open with seeds scattering, on a dark red backdrop.
