B2B cold email prompt that gets replies
This prompt writes a cold email to a named prospect in under 90 words. You give it your product in one line, one real fact about their company and a result you can offer. The rules are that the first line is about them and not you, there is one easy ask such as a 15-minute call, no buzzwords, and three subject lines to choose from. A specific, true detail in the first line matters more than any template.
Write a cold email to [PROSPECT NAME], [JOB TITLE] at [COMPANY]. What I sell: [PRODUCT IN ONE LINE] One relevant fact about their company: [TRIGGER, e.g. they just opened a new branch] Result I can offer: [OUTCOME, e.g. cut reporting time by 30%] Rules: under 90 words, first line about them not me, one clear low-effort ask (a 15-minute call), no buzzwords, no "I hope this email finds you well". Give 3 subject line options.
A real, specific trigger in the first line matters more than any template.
Get a better result
A short cold email under 90 words with a first line about the prospect, one clear low-effort ask for a 15-minute call, no buzzwords and three subject line options.
The email opens with your company and not with them.
Fix: Give a real, specific trigger in the fact blank, such as a new branch, a hiring post or an award. The first line should use it.
- The outcome claim is vague or invented. Use a number you can back up, and write “do not exaggerate, no claims I did not give you”. Never send a result you cannot prove.
- Every email in your list sounds the same. Change the trigger and the outcome for each person, and ask for a fresh draft each time instead of reusing one.
Ask for “a 3-line follow-up for five days later that adds one new useful fact and does not say just checking in”. Send it only if they have not replied.
Shorten it to 70 words and make the first line more specific to their company. Keep one question and give me three new subject lines.
