What you will get

A clean horizontal timeline with your title and milestones, each with a numbered circle, a small icon, a short label and a date joined by a smooth line on white in your palette.

Common mistake

Dates and labels are misspelt or swapped.

Fix: Follow the tip and give the exact text for each milestone, with a few words per label. Check every date against your source.

Also watch for

Too many milestones crowd the line. Keep to five or six. For longer histories, split the timeline into two images, one per period.
Icons do not match the milestones. Describe each icon in the list, for example “a rocket for launch, a trophy for the award”, instead of leaving them to the AI.

Try a variation: vertical timeline for mobile

Ask for “a vertical version, 4:5, with the line running down the left and labels on the right”, which reads better on a phone.

Still not right? Reply with this

Keep the layout. Shorten each label to three words, enlarge the dates and use one icon style throughout.
