What you will get

A bright, energetic sports day: children in house colours running a relay with a baton pass, a sack race full of laughter, parents cheering and a proud winner on a podium, with handheld camera and cheering.

Why it works

Sports day is remembered for its joy more than its results, so the prompt mixes a real race with the relay pass, a funny sack race, parents cheering and a proud winner on a podium. A handheld camera feels like a parent filming from the sidelines, and bright sunshine and house colours make the scene cheerful. Cheering and upbeat music, as the tip says, carry the excitement even on a small phone screen.

Common mistake

Too many events are crammed into one clip.

Fix: Split it into three short clips, the relay, the sack race and the podium, and join them in your edit so each moment has time to land.

Also watch for
  • The baton pass looks wrong or the baton vanishes. Ask for one runner reaching back with an open hand while the next runner grabs the baton without stopping, both moving forward.
  • Real school names or crests appear on the shirts. Ask for plain T-shirts in house colours with no text or logos, so the clip can be used by any school.
Try a variation: parents race

Ask for a funny parents’ race with dads and mums laughing and stumbling.
