A sandstorm looks huge only next to something small, so the prompt places a lone vehicle or caravan in its path. The amber sky and dunes vanishing behind give a sense of time running out. A wide shot from far away, as the tip says, shows the full wall of dust.
The storm looks like a small cloud.
Fix: Keep the camera far away, as the tip says, and make the vehicle tiny against the wall of dust.
- The dust wall does not move. Ask for the storm front rolling forward and churning, filling more of the frame by the end.
- The light stays bright blue. Ask for the sky turning amber and dim as the storm gets closer.
Ask for a view from behind a windscreen as the dust arrives, wipers going and the road vanishing.
