Get a better result
A pitch under 150 words with a clear subject line, an angle, a reason it matters now, supporting facts, a source offered and a single ask, plus a polite follow-up.
It reads like an advert.
Fix: Lead with the story and the proof, not the product. Remove superlatives you cannot back up.
- It is not for their beat. Read their last few articles and mention one, so it is clear you chose them for a reason.
- The follow-up is pushy. Send one short follow-up after a week with a new fact, and then let it go.
Ask for a version framed around local impact and a named local person, which regional editors often prefer.
List every figure and claim in this email so I can check each one against my sources, and mark the ones a journalist is most likely to question.
