Generate email subject lines that get opened
This prompt writes fifteen subject lines for an email, three each in styles such as curiosity, benefit, honest urgency and short personal lines. You give the topic, audience and goal, whether opens, clicks or replies.
Write 15 email subject lines for this email. Email is about: [TOPIC] Audience: [WHO] Goal: [OPEN / CLICK / REPLY] Give 3 each in these styles: curiosity, benefit, urgency (honest, no fake deadlines), personal and short (under 30 characters). Mark your top 3 and say why. No ALL CAPS, no more than one emoji, no spammy words like "free" or "act now".
A/B test your top two. Change only the subject line so the result is clean.
Get a better result
Fifteen subject lines in five styles (curiosity, benefit, urgency, personal and short), three each, with your top three marked and a reason for each choice, written without caps, spam words or fake deadlines.
The “short” lines run over 30 characters.
Fix: Reply “count the characters after each short line and rewrite any over 30”, then check them in a character counter.
- The urgency lines invent deadlines. Give a real one in the topic box, such as “sale ends Friday 6 pm”, and say “urgency only from the real deadline”.
- All 15 lines sound alike. Paste two subject lines that worked before and say “match this voice, but change the angle in each line”.
Add “for my top three, write a matching preview line that continues the subject line without repeating it”. The preview shows beside the subject in most inboxes.
Count the characters after each short line, base the urgency lines only on the deadline I gave and make each line start differently.
