What you will get

A cosy spread of masala chai in glass cups, a plate of samosas or pakoras, biscuits and chutney on a low wooden table by a rainy window, in warm lamp light.

Why it works

Evening chai while it rains is a mood most Indian families know, so the prompt builds it from a few clear parts: steaming glasses, fried snacks, a low wooden table and a rainy window. Warm lamp light against the grey rain makes the room feel cosy by contrast. Glass cups instead of mugs and a low table make it look like a real home rather than a café set.

Common mistake

The chai has no steam, so it looks cold.

Fix: Ask for thin wisps of steam rising from each glass. Steam is the quickest sign that the tea is fresh and hot.

Also watch for

The window looks dry and bright. Ask for rain streaks on the glass and blurred wet greenery outside, as the tip suggests, with grey light that makes the lamp feel warmer.
The snacks look fake or flat. Ask for golden, flaky samosas with one broken open to show the potato and pea filling, and a small bowl of green chutney beside them.

Try a variation: from above

Ask for an overhead view of the same spread with hands reaching for the cups.

Still not right? Reply with this

Keep the table and lamp light, add steam from the cups, rain streaks on the window and one samosa broken open to show the filling.
