Warm vertical video. A traditional sweet-shop counter in [FESTIVAL WEEK, e.g. the week of Diwali]: hands in a plain cotton apron carefully arrange [SWEETS, e.g. golden laddoos, deep brown gulab jamuns, saffron-coloured jalebis and diamond-shaped barfi with silver leaf] into a decorated cardboard box lined with marigold petals, while strings of small warm lights glow in the soft-focus background and a brass lamp burns at the edge of the counter. Slow macro-style push-in, warm golden light, glossy sugar syrup shine, shallow depth of field. Festive, cosy, mouth-watering mood. Sound: soft shop murmur, tiny clinks of metal trays, gentle festive instrumental music.

Food clips look best when hands do the work. Hands in a plain cotton apron arranging sweets into a box, a slow macro push-in and glossy syrup are enough, and a lit lamp at the edge sets the season.

What you will get

A warm macro clip of hands placing gulab jamun, jalebi and silver-leaf barfi into a marigold-lined box, with warm lights blurred in the background and a lit brass lamp in front.

Common mistake

Text on the sweet box is made-up lettering.

Fix: The printed mark on the box in this clip is not real writing. Ask for a plain, unmarked box, or add the real shop name afterwards in an editor.

Also watch for
  • The sweets blur into one orange mass. Name each sweet by colour and shape, as here, and keep it to about four kinds. They stay apart in this clip because each one differs: gold, brown, saffron, and white with silver leaf.
Try a variation: another festival

Change the festival and the sweets: Eid with sheer khurma and dates, Christmas with plum cake and cookies, or Holi with gujiya. Keep the hands in a plain apron and the slow macro push-in.

Still not right? Add this and run it again

Single continuous shot, one smooth camera move, no cuts.
