Project kickoff brief in one page
This prompt creates a one-page kickoff brief. You give the project name, goal, deadline and team, and it lays out scope, roles and next steps.
Create a one-page project kickoff brief. Project: [PROJECT NAME] Goal: [GOAL] Deadline: [DATE] Team and roles: [TEAM] Budget or limits: [LIMITS] Include: objective, success measures, scope (in and out), key milestones with dates, risks, who decides what, and how we will communicate. Keep each section to three bullets or fewer.
Circulate it before the kickoff call and use the call only to resolve disagreements.

A one-page brief with the objective, success measures, what is in and out of scope, dated milestones, risks, who decides what and how the team will communicate, each section in three bullets or fewer.
Out-of-scope is left empty.
Fix: Name two or three things people might expect but will not get. Most fights later in a project are about scope nobody wrote down.
- Milestones have no dates, just phases. Give your real deadline and ask it to work backwards with a date for every milestone, marking any that look too tight.
- Every decision belongs to “the team”. Ask for one named role per decision type, such as budget, design and launch date, so nothing waits for a meeting.
Ask for a version to share with a client, with internal risks and budget detail removed and a clear list of what you need from them.
Add a short note at the top asking attendees to comment on the brief before the meeting, and list the three decisions we need to make in it.
