What you will get

A friendly DM under 90 words that mentions what you like about their account, proposes one specific idea that works for both audiences, gives an easy way to say no, plus a short follow-up for a week later.

Why it works

Creators get many collab requests, and most are vague. The prompt asks for what you like about their account and a specific idea with a reason it works for both audiences. The length limit and the easy no make the message quick to answer, and the tip’s point is that a concrete idea gets more replies than “let’s collab”.

Common mistake

The compliment is generic.

Fix: Name one post or series you liked and why. Generic praise reads like a template.

Also watch for

The idea favours your account. Spell out what their audience gets, as the prompt asks. Creators say yes to what serves their followers.
The follow-up sounds pushy. Ask for a follow-up that adds one detail and keeps the easy no.

Try a variation: bigger creator

If they are much bigger than you, ask for a version offering something useful first, such as research or a design, with no ask in the first message.
