PromptUp vs Claude: what's the difference?

Short answer: Claude is the AI assistant that writes the answer; PromptUp is the free, private builder that helps you write a clear, detailed prompt to give it.

Because PromptUp's Claude prompts are labelled by tool, some people assume PromptUp is an Anthropic product, or a rival to Claude. It's neither. PromptUp is an independent, free prompt builder; Claude is the AI assistant you paste the finished prompt into.

What Claude is

Claude is Anthropic's AI assistant, generally known for careful, well-structured long-form writing and for following detailed instructions closely. Features like Projects let you keep a set of documents and instructions attached to an ongoing piece of work, and Artifacts let it render a document, a code file or a small app as you go, alongside the conversation. Claude is the tool that reads your prompt and produces the actual writing, analysis or code.

What PromptUp is

PromptUp doesn't write anything itself. It's a free, in-browser builder and a library of over 1,400 ready-made prompts for photo editing, image generation, video and text tasks — interview prep, resumes, research, proofreading and more. You pick what you're trying to do, fill in a few details, and it hands you a complete prompt to paste into Claude or another assistant.

Where the two overlap

They don't, really. Claude does the reasoning and writing; PromptUp does the prompt-writing.
