What you will get

A magical adventure clip of a child pulling an ancient book from a shelf, a swirling golden portal opening in the air, glowing dust rising, pages flying, floating islands visible inside and awe on the child’s face.

Why it works

This scene works because of the child’s reaction, so the prompt pairs the portal with awe on their face and warm cinematic light. Glowing dust and flying pages make the magic feel physical, and a glimpse of floating islands gives the viewer a reason to want the next scene. It sits between cosy library and grand adventure, which suits stories and trailers.

Common mistake

The child’s face is hidden, so the moment loses its feeling.

Fix: As the tip says, the reaction makes it. Ask for the child half turned to the camera, eyes wide, lit by the portal.

Also watch for
  • The pages fly so wildly they hide the portal. Ask for a few pages lifting and circling slowly around the edges of the portal.
  • The floating islands are hard to see. Ask for a clear view through the portal of green floating islands with waterfalls, in daylight.
Try a variation: stepping through

Add a second clip where the child steps through and lands on a floating island, looking back at the library window shrinking behind.

Still not right? Add this and run it again

the child half turned to the camera with wide eyes lit by the portal, a few pages circling slowly at the edges, green floating islands with waterfalls clearly visible inside
