Mention stone houses and prayer flags to signal a Himalayan setting.

What you will get

A peaceful travel-style scene of a stone village on a mountain slope at dawn, with chimney smoke, prayer flags, terraced fields and snow peaks glowing pink and gold behind cool valley mist.

Why it works

Stone houses and prayer flags, as the tip says, signal a Himalayan village. Terraced fields and chimney smoke add life. Snow peaks glowing pink and gold at dawn give colour, while cool mist in the valley adds depth.

Common mistake

The buildings look generic.

Fix: Add stone houses with flat slate roofs and prayer flags, as the tip says, to signal the region.

Also watch for

The sky is overly saturated. Ask for soft pink and gold only on the peaks, with a pale blue sky above and no bright orange.
Prayer flags look random. Ask for flags strung in a line between two points, with five colours in a row, fluttering in the same direction.

Try a variation: make a winter version

Ask for the same village under fresh snow with smoke rising straight up in still air and warm light in the windows.

Still not right? Add this and run it again

an imagined village inspired by the region, no real place names or signs, soft pink light on the peaks
